Making meetings work...

Paperjam.lu

Bad meetings can have big consequences. Beyond the waste of time and money, they can create relationship issues between staff members, and lead to no – or bad – decisions. Being able to create an authen- tic meeting culture inside an organisation can become an asset for creativity and efficiency.

The traditional way to respond to weak meeting efficiency is to focus on time management and agenda: what will be said, where, when, and by whom? Even
though this might be useful, more can be done concerning the preparation, meeting atmosphere, follow-up and the general concept of what a meeting is. Today vir- tual meetings are a part of our daily work life and therefore important to include in the company’s meeting culture.

What are the traditional mistakes or misunderstandings about meetings? What are the sources of inefficiency? How is it possible to enhance or even create a mee- ting culture?
